Looks like Katy Perry is moving on with her life now that she is officially divorced from ex-husband Russell Brand.
The couple's divorce was finalised over the weekend and now it has been revealed that her new boyfriend Rob Ackroyd is moving to Los Angeles to be with her. The couple, who were first spotted getting cosy at the Coachella Festival in Los Angeles in May are said to be taking things slow but lovesick Rob is keen to make a go of it and I prepared to move across the globe to do it.
An insider told The Mirror: “Katy doesn’t want to make the same mistakes she made with Russell.
“The long distance thing didn’t work so if she’s going to settle down again, it needs to be with someone who can be close at hand when she needs them.
“It will also take some compromising on her part. The Florence and the Machine guitarist is currently touring with the band but seems distracted by his new relationship after tweeting on Sunday, (July 15) “I wish they all could be California girls.”
The band will be Stateside for a few months later in the year with the big move from Hackney, London to LA planned for October.
The source went on: “Rob is making the move overseas towards the end of the year. It seems really sudden but it’s now or never for them.
“They’ve spent the majority of the past few months apart so in one way it will actually be a test of their relationship to be around each other so much.”
Katy split from Russell in December 2011 after 14 months of marriage.
While she has claimed to be single since breaking up with Russell, she was spotted meeting up with Rob in London on a recent visit.
