Ofosu-Ampofo accuses NPP of incurring fresh Gh¢1.1 million judgement debt

Local Government Minister, Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo has hinted of yet another judgement debt in which the state is likely to pay a 1.1 ,illion cedis.

Mr Ofosu-Ampofo made the disclosure to teeming supporters of the NDC at Saturday’s campaign launch of Presidential aide and NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Odododiodoo, Nii Lantey Vanderpuye at Bukom Square.

The Local Government Minister alleged that the debt was incurred because the past New Patriotic Party administration failed to pay for cooking utensils and materials they purchased for the School Feeding Programme.

He disclosed that “Last Friday I was there when a lawyer came and handed another judgement debt to us in the Ministry of Local Government ... lo and behold, when I checked, it is a judgment debt that has been issued against the government because during the NPP time, under the School Feeding Programme they went and bought cooking utensils ... they didn’t pay.”

The debt, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo said, “was about GHc44,000. Today it has risen to over GHc1.1 million and they are asking us in our ministry to go and pay for the recklessness and the mismanagement of the NPP administration.”

He blamed the NPP and its flagbearer Nana Akufo Addo, who was then Attorney General, for causing all the judgment debt mess the country is experiencing presently.-MYJOYONLINE
