REVIEW: Why Raquel's Sweetio Video failed to please Ghanaians

Undoubtedly, Raquel's sweetio has been one of the best songs in the year 2012. However, the video didn't achieve much success as the music. In this article, we would look at how the video failed to achieve much success.


THE MUSIC
As stated early, the music sweetio achieved much success and to most Ghanaians a classic song in that regard.Raquel herself was great, Sarkodie was phenomenal.

THE VIDEO

I must admit the video came in so late so people were expecting the video to be one in a million. Also, since the video came in late, a lot of people prejudged the video. People expected the video to follow the story line in which the song portrayed so when it came out otherwise people thought it was a flop

COMMENTARY
The video wasn't necessarily a flop because the concept was different from other video and it is not every time that every video in Ghana has to follow the story line and it is not every video that should have an azonto dance in it. There have been a lot of videos that went contrary to the story line but have won video of the year. Examples include Single Ladies, Bad romance, Ayo Technology. We are not saying that when a video follows the story line it is bad per say but in our music industry we need creative and Raquel's sweetio video certainly does
