- Kim Kardashian and Kris HumphriesFor months, we heard about Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries' impending nuptials. The media-savvy Kardashian was photographed meeting with Vera Wang about her three dresses, tasting cakes, and registering for pricey presents at Gearys of Beverly Hills. And in the end, the $10 million August 20 affair, filmed for the E! special "Kim's Fairytale Wedding," was pretty close to perfect. It was the marriage that needed work. Kardashian filed for divorce barely two months later, saying that she had made a mistake. "I think when you know so deep in your heart that you just to listen to your intuition and follow your heart, there's no right or wrong thing to do," she explained after the breakup. Too bad she didn't hear that voice 72 days earlier! The divorce isn’t expected to be finalized until next year, and has already cost an estimated $250,000. She's now famously dating Kanye West.
- Chad Johnson and Evelyn Lozada
Remember reading about how the NFL's Chad Johnson, who briefly changed his last name to Ochocinco in honor of his number 85 jersey, had married Evelyn Lozada? Well, it’s already over. "Basketball Wives" star Lozada filed for divorce this week after just 41 days of what we're guessing was not wedded bliss. The split was prompted by Johnson's arrest for misdemeanor domestic violence after he allegedly head-butted his bride. Reportedly, the couple was arguing because Lozada found a receipt for a box of condoms. Since the incident, Johnson's found himself not only without a wife, but without a planned VH1 reality show "Ev and Ocho," which was canceled, and a football team, since he was cut from the Miami Dolphins for his behavior. - Charlie Sheen and Donna PeeleModel Donna Peele should've been tipped off that marrying Charlie Sheen wasn't the greatest idea early on in the relationship. In a deposition during the 1995 tax evasion trial of Hollywood madam Heidi Fleiss, Sheen revealed both that he'd spent more than $50,000 on "sexual services" from Fleiss and her employees between 1991 and 1993, and that he planned to settle down and marry Peele. Not surprisingly, the union didn't last long. The couple called it quits less than five months later. Sheen, who has since had rocky marriages to Denise Richards and Brooke Mueller that both ended in divorce, was a gentleman as always when explaining the breakup. "You buy a bad car, it breaks down," he said. Ladies, how is this guy still on the market?!
- Nicolas Cage and Lisa Marie Presley
Nicolas Cage has always had a thing for Elvis. The "Honeymoon in Vegas" actor used the King as an inspiration for his character in David Lynch's 1990 film "Wild at Heart," and recorded Presley's song "Love Me Tender" for the soundtrack. Then, in August 2002, during the week that marked the 25th anniversary of Elvis' death, Cage married the legendary singer's daughter Lisa Marie Presley at a resort in Hawaii following a 10-day engagement. It took just less than four months for the nostalgia to wear off, and for the couple to go their separate ways. "I'm sad about this, but we shouldn't have been married in the first place," Presley said in a statement. "It was a big mistake." The Cage union was so short that it made her year-and-a-half marriage to Michael Jackson look lengthy! - Renee Zellweger and Kenny ChesneyTexas-born actress Renee Zellweger and country music star Kenny Chesney's romance fizzled out even more quickly than it began. The couple met on January 15, 2005, at a tsunami relief benefit. By May 9, they were exchanging vows in front of 35 guests in the Virgin Islands. Four months later, Zellweger filed for divorce, citing "fraud" as the reason. According to a statement from the couple, "The miscommunication of the objective of their marriage at the start is the only reason for this annulment. Renee and Kenny value and respect each other and are saddened that their different objectives prevent the success of this marriage." Years later, Chesney revealed to Oprah that he'd "panicked" after saying "I do." "Oh my God, but it's tough. It really is tough," he said. "And [Zellweger]'s a sweet soul, no doubt about it, but I just wasn't ready."
- Pamela Anderson and Kid Rock
Pamela Anderson, 45, loves bad boys, but her relationships with them never quite work out. The former "Baywatch" babe, who was famously wed to Motley Crue rocker Tommy Lee from 1995 to 1998, cozied up to another musician, Kid Rock, in 2003. The couple married on July 29, 2006, only to split less than four months later. In 2008, the "Cowboy" singer was asked during an appearance on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" if he still spoke to Anderson. "Not really," he said. "If I saw her somewhere I'd say hi, but I try not to go in the same circles. I touched stove, stove was hot, I think I'll not touch stove anymore." Ouch! - Pamela Anderson and Rick SalomonFor her third marriage, Anderson selected Rick Salomon as her groom. (He's the guy who co-starred in a sex tape with Paris Hilton and was previously married to Shannen Doherty.) In October 2007, the couple said "I do" at the Mirage in Las Vegas in between two of Anderson's magic show performances. Anderson and Salomon had been friends for more than 15 years before things turned romantic ... if that's what you want to call it. "I paid off a poker debt with sexual favors, and I fell in love," Anderson explained on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" a month before her wedding. Just 60 days after tying the knot, Anderson realized she had lost in the game of love again and filed for divorce in December, although she and Salomon later tried working things out.
- Drew Barrymore and Jeremy ThomasFor her third marriage, Anderson selected Rick Salomon as her groom. Just 60 days after tying the knot, Anderson realized she had lost in the game of love again and filed for divorce in December, although she and Salomon later tried working things out.
- Drew Barrymore and Tom GreenDrew Barrymore has packed a lot of living into her 37 years. The "Wedding Singer" actress has overcome addictions to drugs and alcohol, posed nude for Playboy, starred in and produced a long list of films, and walked down the aisle three times. When she was 19, she swapped vows with Jeremy Thomas in the L.A. bar that he owned in March 1994 after six weeks of dating. "We're trying to figure out (living arrangements) now," she told People. "Usually people live together first and then get married. I guess we're doing it the old-fashioned way. Kind of." Clearly, the so-called traditional marriage wasn't meant to be, because Barrymore filed for divorce less than two months later.
- Bradley Cooper and Jennifer EspositoLong before the 2011 Sexiest Man Alive Bradley Cooper romanced stars like Zoe Saldana and Renee Zellweger, the "Hangover" actor was a one-woman man. Cooper, now 37, exchanged vows with actress Jennifer Esposito ("Samantha Who?") in December 2006 after dating her for about a year. However, just four months later, Esposito filed for divorce, citing the standard "irreconcilable differences" and seeking spousal support. That was a probably a smart move, since Cooper soon became huge star. He opened up about the marriage to Howard Stern – who's practically the guy's version of Oprah – last year. "It was just something that happened. The good thing is, we both realized it... Sometimes you just realize it," Cooper confessed. "It just wasn't right. It's interesting ... things happen!"
11. Carmen Electra and Dennis Rodman
Singer/model/actress Carmen Electra and former NBA star Dennis Rodman decided to take their casual romance to the next level during a November 1998 weekend getaway to Las Vegas. After a night of clubbing and partying with friends, Electra said she went to bed about 3 a.m. on Sunday, only to be awaken by Rodman at 7 a.m. "He grabbed my legs and started shaking me," Electra told People. "I looked at him and said, 'What the hell do you want?' And he says, ‘Get up. Get dressed.' That's when he asked me. I think he said, 'Let's get married. Do you want to get married? Let's do it.’ I said yes and I gave him a big hug. I got dressed and off we went." The reality of the spontaneous wedding began to sink in by Monday, and Rodman's manager quickly issued a statement saying that his client was too intoxicated to be held responsible for the decision. Electra noted that by Wednesday, she and Rodman agreed that the best move for both of them was to file for an annulment. Rodman waited a few days to do just that, which means that their marriage was intact for nine whole days. Both have since married and divorced again.
12. Mario Lopez and Ali Landry
A wedding is supposed to be a happy time, but for beauty queen-turned-actress Ali Landry, her March 2006 nuptials with Mario Lopez were anything but. Around the time that Landry and her boyfriend of six years Lopez wed before 50 guests at a resort in Puerta Vallarta, Mexico, she learned that the former "Saved by the Bell" star was cheating! "I had heard something right before the wedding: He swore that it was not true, but I had that feeling in my gut," Landry said on "The Wendy Williams Show" in March. On the advice of a girlfriend, Landry tapped Lopez's phone, and her worst fears were confirmed. She ended the marriage after 13 days. "I confronted him and he still – to this day – denied it and never apologized," Landry said. "It was horrible." Although Lopez wouldn't admit his infidelities to Landry, he did tell Howard Stern that he had "messed around" with another woman days before the wedding. For shame!
13. Britney Spears and Jason Alexander
By now, we're used to watching Britney Spears' exploits, such as shaving her head, suffering a wardrobe malfunction in public, or attacking the paparazzi with an umbrella. But back in January 2004, before she'd even married Kevin Federline, the "Piece of Me" singer made the first of many questionable moves. She and childhood friend Jason Alexander – who weren't even dating – spontaneously decided to tie the knot in a casual, quickie ceremony at the Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas. It was all fun and games until Spears' mom and managers found out about it. After just 55 hours of wedded bliss, the marriage was annulled, because Spears "lacked understanding of her actions." When asked about the incident later, she explained that she was “being silly, being rebellious." Brit's now set to marry former agent Jason Trawick. Let’s hope her third time’s a charm!
