The Teranga Lions of Senegal have picked Newcastle strikers Papis
Cisse and Demba Ba for the AFCON return leg clash against Cote d’Ivoire.
Ibrahima Toure, who has taken the French second division by
storm with goals for Monaco, has also been called up.
Senegal will be hoping the firepower of the Newcastle stars and
Toure will be enough to reverse a 4-2 loss they suffered in Abidjan earlier
this month.
Senegal will qualify for the 2013 AFCON if they beat fellow West
Africans Cote d’Ivoire by at least 2-0 in Dakar.
Coach Joseph Koto has named as many as 13 players from the
country’s Olympic team for this all-important return clash fixed for October
13.
These players include Abdoulaye Ba, Pape Ndiaye Souare and
Saliou Ciss, who all shone at the recent London Olympics.
However, there is no place for El Hadj Diouf whose international
suspension has been lifted, as well as former Rennes defender Kader Magane, who
struggled in the first match in Abidjan.
