Government has called for postponement of the commencement of the 2014/2015 academic year by two weeks.
The delay is on the advice of the inter-ministerial team on the Ebola
Viral Disease to allow for the necessary screening and preparedness
measures to be put in place to ensure that tertiary institutions are
adequately placed in readiness.
“Government wished that this directive also applies to private
tertiary institutions,” a statement signed by Professor Naana
Opoku-Agyemang, Minister of Education said.
The statement asked all Vice-Chancellors, Rectors, Presidents and
Principals to comply with the communications and to also attend a
meeting of the Inter-Ministerial Team on Ebola Viral Disease on Monday
August 18 at the Flagstaff House. GNA
