The Ghanaian media network has unveiled its coverage of the prestigious league with Liverpool and England legend John Barnes as the special guest
Ghanaian media house TV 3 has launched their coverage of the 2014-15 English Premier League season after securing the rights.One of the best sports networks in Ghana, TV 3 has further enhanced their reputation with the live telecast of the EPL which is the most watched league in the west African nation.
“TV 3 is proud to be associated with the EPL exclusively for the next two seasons after acquiring the rights in response to the growing calls from our cherished viewers to give them a bite of the EPL fun,” the CEO of TV 3 Augustus Dickson stated.
“The launch is to show our numerous viewers that they remain central to our operations. Obtaining viewership rights for such a prestigious football event is no easy feat, I am proud of my management for the outstanding work they have done in securing this right.”
Dickson added: “TV 3 as the market leaders will continue to provide unrivalled programs particularly in the area of sports. The EPL is just the beginning as there are more ones coming up.”
On his part, the British High Commissioner to Ghana Jon Benjamin indicated that the EPL has been England’s major export for the past 22 years and they are very proud of it.
Former English and Liverpool legend John Barnes, who was the special guest at the launch, also indicated that the euphoria the EPL brings is so much that it is watched in every part of the globe.
He was happy that the Premier League has produced many great African players.
The Ghana FA president Kwesi Nyantakyi, who was also present, emphasised that he is looking forward to seeing the Ghana Premier League reaching the status of the EPL one day.
