The EC has given the new party, National Democratic Party a provisional certificate to operate legally.. The party will therefore hold a press conference to elect people that would represent the party in the 2012 elections.
Interim General Secretary of the
party, Dr. Josiah Ayeh in an interview with XYZ News rejected claims
that the demise of President Mills will affect NDP’s drive and
formation.
He explained that though they have nothing against the late President, they believe that there is something wrong with the configuration of the current NDC.
“We have nothing personal against President Mills that must be made very loud and clear. Since the demise of the President, we believe that the same configuration of individuals and interest that prevailed in the old NDC are still in place.
“So nothing has changed as far as we are concerned, once we get registered we will do what political parties do, we will campaign and put our manifesto to the people of this country” Mr. Aryeh said.
