Rihanna has been comforted by rumoured lover Chris Brown after news that her beloved Grandmother ‘Gran Gran Dolly’ had passed away this weekend.
The star took to Twitter to announce that Monica Braithwaite, affectionately known as ‘Dolly’ had lost her battle with cancer, tweeting: “Goodbye #grangranDOLLY get your beauty rest until I see you.”
Soon after it was announced, Chris tweeted his condolences, showing just how close the pair still are as he referred to the ‘We Found Love’ star’s grandmother “like” his own.
“Praying for family and the lost loved one. She was like my grandmother. Love you GRAN GRAN! RIP,” he tweeted. Chris wasn’t the only one who reached out, his mother Joyce Hawkins also sent a message of support and love to Rihanna who quickly replied.
Joyce wrote: “Angel may God be with you and your family in your time of sorrow. Love you angel.” “Thank you! Love u mama.” The star quickly replied.
The public exchange of messages shows just how close Rihanna and her family are to Brown and how he still gives her so much support. The couple were rumoured to have rekindled their romance, with ended in 2009 after the ‘Run It’ star assaulted his girlfriend.
The 24 year-old posted a series of touching photos after revealing the sad news and will no doubt take some time off from her busy schedule to mourn her loss.
