Chris Brown has announced he will not be attending this year's MTV Video Music Awards, despite reports to the contrary.
The 'Turn Up The Music' singer was expected to attend the ceremony in Los Angeles next week to potentially pick up one of the two awards he is nominated for, if he wins. It was being speculated that he would reunite with his ex-girlfriend Rihanna on stage to present an award following her declaration of love for him two weeks ago during an interview with Oprah Winfrey.
Reports were also circulating that producers of the awards were hoping Chris and his rival Drake would have an altercation to boost ratings, in light of their club brawl back in June.
However, Chris' rep says none of the above will happen as the singer isn't even attending the ceremony. "[Chris] will not be at the VMAs in any capacity," his rep told Gossip Cop.
Chris' chart-topping single 'Turn Up The Music' has been nominated for two awards, Best Male Video and Best Choreography.
The VMAs will be taking place on September 6 and will be hosted by comedian Kevin Hart.
