The transition Pattern of our Senior High School educational system

In Ghana, most Senior High School operate on this system :First Term, Second Term, Third Term. However this year 2012/2013 the situation is a little bit different.

Those who are in SHS 2 right now, would not be vacating this year. They would be staying in school so that they can catch up with all the syllabus they weren't able to cover. At first, our SHS system operated on a 4 year term but after the revetment to the 3 year system. Two batches have to write the same examination.

Clearly, the student who are currently in Form 3 going to Form 4 have the advantage and in order to bridge up the gap between the two group of candidates, some schools did not vacate the Form 2 student in a bid of bridging up the gap between the two.

However, this comes at a cost, parents are asked to pay a small token for this. The students too are not left out, they are tired but have to move on because this is their future. The situation is no different on the part of the teachers.
