"Falcao is the best number 9 in the world"

No sooner had Skomina blown the whistle to end the match, all eyes were on Falcao, by now resting on the bench after Simeone substituted him so that he might receive a well-deserved ovation. All of his team-mates acclaimed 'the Tiger', the hero of a new trophy win for Atlético de Madrid.
On the pitch, soon after going up to collect the trophy, Mario Suárez paid tribute to his teammate's goal scoring abilities, and then extolled him on Spanish television- "Falcao's gift is incredible; he is quite amazing. For me he is the best centre forward in the world".
But it was not only his teammates who were knocked out by the Colombian forward's performance. Players from other teams praised 'the Tiger' on the social networks. "Falcao is utter class", said Sahin. "Astounding", said Piqué. Falcao had turned the football world upside down.
Simeone's contribution was also recognised. The Atlético goalkpeeper, Courtois, said: "It is true that I had very little to do, but we had to concentrate as the opposition was very dangerous. Simeone's strategies were perfect, and we played well both in attack and defence right from the word go", he added exuberantly. "To win two European finals is incredible, and it's even more incredible to watch our fans enjoying it all, which is a spectacle in itself".
