Messi: "We're leaving Peru angry"

"We absolutely have to beat Uruguay
The Argentinean striker Lionel Messi said "the positive thing is that we didn't lose", in reference to Argentina's draw against Peru (1-1) in Lima on Tuesday, the eighth day of South American qualifiers for the 2014 Brazil World Cup.
"We knew it would be tough. It was a tight match. The pitch was bad, but it was for both of us. The most positive thing is that we didn't lose. It's important not to lose away and you always have to win at home," said the Barcelona player.
"We're leaving (Lima) angry, because we couldn't win or play our game. We fell into their scrapping. As the visiting team in qualifiers, it makes it much harder. The important thing is to stay on top (of the table)," he said.
Today, Wednesday, the Buenos Aires press was unanimous in the opinion that Messi "did not shine" in the National Stadium in Lima, with Peru opting not to man-mark him but deploy "a wall" of three players to prevent him from receiving the ball cleanly.
"We absolutely have to win against Uruguay at home," said 'La Pulga', after acknowledging that "on another day, Argentina might have lost" against the Peruvians.
