Puyol out for 4-6 weeks

Carles Puyol could be out for between four to six weeks after suffering a knee ligament injury in Barcelona’s 4-1 win at Getafe.
Puyol will undergo medical tests on Sunday to discover the extent of the damage and how long he will be sidelined, but the initial prognosis is that he may not return until the beginning of November.
The 34-year-old had to leave the field 12 minutes into the second half at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez, although he had continued for some time in obvious discomfort, and returned to the bench from the dressing room with an ice pack around his knee.
The good news for Puyol is that his injury is not the same as the one that prevented him from playing for Spain in the European Championships in Poland and Ukraine and needed to be operated on.
Curiously, Barca played a few minutes of the game without a captain as Puyol had forgotten to give his armband to another player, with Javier Mascherano eventually taking over the mantle.
