Barcelona’s Leo Messi has admitted to copying Andrea Pirlo when taking a recent freekick for Argentina. The 25-year-old scored said freekick during his country’s 3-0 win over Uruguay, hitting the ball under the jumping wall.
“I saw that the goalkeeper wanted to come forward and also noticed the wall was preparing to jump,” Messi told the press.
“I saw recently that Pirlo and Ronaldinho had scored this way. I had some doubts, but I gave it a go and it went well.”
Pirlo did the same during Juventus 2-1 win over Siena in Serie A recently.
