NDP is here to stay, rescue Ghanaians from dishonest politicians – Youth Organiser

The Interim National Youth Organiser of the National Democratic Party (NDP), Dr David Sunu has said the party will not “stumble and fall” as its detractors have prayed and wished for but will grow strong to restore integrity to the nation’s politics.

“Many are they that would pray that the NDP does not see the light of day, unfortunately it has seen the light of day. Many are they that will pray that we stumble and fall but the more they pray, the more we get stronger,” he noted.

As the party prepares to hold its first Delegates’ Congress on Saturday to elect its flagbearer, some leading members have already hinted that former first lady Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings will be the one to lead the NDC to the December polls.

Speaking on Joy FM’s Election Headquarters Wednesday, Dr Sunu revealed that all was set for Saturday’s programme.

He was convinced the venue for the congress – Baba Yara stadium - will be filled to capacity since about 7,000 people including delegates, supporters and sympathisers will attend.

Dr Sunu also stated that the party had defied the odds and doom to come this far.

He was, therefore, confident the election of its flagbearer will cement their existence and put “the doubting Thomases to shame”.

“…For all those who believe in restoring integrity to the politics of this country…for all those who think that participatory democracy is the way to go, for all those who believe that we all must contribute not only during elections but also at every step of the developmental process; and that politicians must not take us for granted, they all must come on board the agenda of the NDP” bearing in mind that “our nation will be our future,” he cried.
