The United States military will work with allies to destroy the ISIS
"network of death," President Obama told the United Nations General
Assembly. In a tough-talking speech, the president said force is the
only language the militants understand, and he also warned that Russia
will pay for bullying Ukraine. Obama issued a strong call to arms in the
battle against Islamic State saying, "Today, I ask the world to join in
this effort." He added that "we will not succumb to threats, and we
will demonstrate that the future belongs to those who build, not those
who destroy." The president said that in addition to ISIS, Russia's
aggression, the Ebola outbreak and other crises have forced the U.S. to
take the lead.
