The Fonkar-Mills squabbles continue

It seems the fight between FONKAR and President Mills is an unending one. Recently, a leading member of the Friends of Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings (FONKAR), Alhaji Mohammed Naziru, has warned Ghanaians against dealing with some NDC youth who are allegedly using FONKAR to amass wealth.

He said this to Citi Fm “I must be quick to say that a group of young men in the NDC who I described as the new generation of greedy bastards in the party are going about using FONKAR to taking money to sort of adhere to the directives of their paymasters,”

He again maintained his position that  “We as members of FONKAR and members of the NDC youth with conviction of principles have no business throwing our support for President Atta Mills until we see the restoration of the true values and principles of the NDC.”

Alhaji Naziru was rejoining to today’s edition of the Tide newspaper which reported that all members of the dissolved FONKAR group in the Northern region have reaffirmed their unflinching and unconditional support for President Mills and also stated their loyalty to the NDC and not any individual.

But Alhaji Naziru in an interview falsified the story, stating, “The allegation made by no less a person than the former Attorney General of the Republic of Ghana that we have certain groups in the media that can be best described as rented NDC press has been confirmed by this childish and indiscriminate publication by the Tide Newspaper.”

He also said FONKAR was rather pre-occupied with the reorientation of its members on the principles and values which formed the bedrock of the NDC.

“The NDC youth with conviction of principles and other such groupings have hit the ground trying to restore hope in Ghanaians, trying as much as we could to ensure that we get our members reoriented to the values of NDC; that we are doing and we leaving no stone unturned to ensure that; I mean FONKAR has no business rallying under the banner of the NDC colours,” he added.

“I repeat loud and clear that FONKAR will not support anything until we see the restoration of the values that formed the bedrock of the NDC that is probity, accountability and social justice.”
