Lady Gaga can add “actress” to her expanding resume.
On Thursday, director Robert Rodriguez announced that the singer’s first acting role will be Lady Chameleon in will be in his much-anticipated film Machete Kills.
“I just finished working with @LadyGaga on @MacheteKills,” Rodriguez tweeted. “She kicked SO MUCH ASS! Holy Smokes. Blown away!”
A short time after, Lady Gaga passed along the news to her nearly-28 million Twitter followers: “Yes it’s true, I will be making my debut as an actress in the amazing MACHETE KILLS BY @RODRIGUEZ. IM SO EXCITED!!! AH! Filming was insane.”
Not much is known of Gaga’s character, but the singer did tweet a photo of herself as Lady Chameleon in her signature style consisting of retro platinum blond hair, and looks seductive as she holds a smoking gun and a white wolf draped around her lingerie-clad body.
The singer-turned-actress joins an all-star ensemble including Jessica Alba, Sofia Vergara, Zoe Saldaña, Mel Gibson, Danny Trejo, Amber Heard, Demián Bichir and Charlie Sheen.
Machete Kills is the sequel to Rodriguez’ 2010 Machete.
