It is a week after the late President, John Evans Atta Mills died and ever since he died, there have been a lot of tribute pouring out from the mouths of Ghanaians. Below is a tribute from Nana Prempeh Okogyeabour to Mills
Hark! hark, my soul! angelic songs are swelling
O'er earth's green fields and ocean's wave-beat shore
How sweet the truth those blessed strains are telling
Of that new life when sin shall be no more
Angels of Jesus, angels of light
Singing to welcome the pilgrims of the night!
Onward we go, for still we hear them singing
Come, weary souls, for Jesus bids you come
And through the dark, its echoes sweetly ringing
The music of the Gospel leads us home
Far, far away, like bells at evening pealing
The voice of Jesus sounds o'er land and sea
And laden souls, by thousands meekly stealing
Kind Shepherd, turn their weary steps to Thee
Joseph Yaw Frimpong also wrote a tribute for the late President which he captions Domino VI(Special Edition)
I was sitting on the volcano
which was located on Cloud ten
when I saw death hovering around
He was happier than usual
I called him and asked
"So who is your latest client?"
He replied with happiness "Your president"
I was stupefied and I rejoined
"Today is 24th July not 1st April"
I began falling from cloud nine
I began to lose grip and this is how I felt
This time is different
The time wasn't right
We can't complain yet we can't cry
When the dark clouds suddenly appear
Cloud nine becomes no option
And then we have to move on
Not because we want to
But because it is the right time to do
I have no dominoes to play
Game days are over
We have now to live with the reality
that he is gone too soon
never to return again
