A Deputy Communications Director of the newly-created National
Democratic Party (NDP), Ernest Owusu Bempah, has indicated that the
party is unperturbed about Dr.
Ofei Agyemang’s resignation.
Dr.
Agyemang, a founding member of the NDP announced his resignation on Wednesday.
He asserted that the NDP leadership had failed to put in place the
necessary structures to contest the December 7 general elections.
He adviced all parliamentary candidates with the intention to contest
this year’s Parliamentary election on the NDP’s ticket to go
independent.
However, Owusu Bempah said the NDP remained solid and poised to contest and if possible win the general elections.
“His resignation will not go a long way to affect our party in anyway
because we know our strength and weakness and we are determined to win
the elections,” he told Citi News.
Mr.
Bempah made reference to the infamous leaked Yaw Boateng Gyan tape
and said “We know we have a lot of moles in our midst as Yaw Boateng
Gyan said on his tape.”
He thus admonished all NDP members to remain focused and intensify their
grassroot campaigns.
He also encouraged NDP supporters to believe and practice the
politics of conviction and shun persons believed to be doing politics of
convenience.
