Find a radio station that does twi news presentation and you would wonder if there is any professionalism in it at all. The essence of news presentation is to inform people(listeners) about the happens in the world but Akan news presentation does more than presenting the listener with information, it most at time entertain more than inform it's listeners about happens in the world
THINGS THEY DO WRONG
When you listen to an Akan news presentation, you would notice one thing; the news caster always tries to make the news sound entertaining and musical to the ears. However, these attempts sometimes causes the news they are presenting to be trivialized.
A perfect example is when the news revolves around rape. The casters always use sexual innuendos which in the long run makes the news more funny than factual. Aside this, the news casters at time in an attempt to make the news funny misconstrues and give inaccurate information which also misinform his audience.
WHAT SHOULD BE DONE?
Akan news casters should go straight to the point rather than going round in circles to create an hilarious effect. What they should know is that news presentation is a serious business and not a comedy show that is run to entertain it's audience. News presentation is meant to inform rather than entertain. Also, if someone is raped, she is in pain and therefore someone's pain shouldn't be used to create laughter
