A man said to be wearing a National Democratic Congress ‘T’-Shirt was stabbed Tuesday, at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle by some persons said to be irate New Patriotic Party supporters.
This has been confirmed by the Greater Accra Police Commander DCOP Patrick Timbilla.
It is not clear if the victim is dead. What is clear however is that thousands of disgruntled NPP supporters are still at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle in Accra protesting what they claim were rigged elections.
Joy News’ Manasseh Awuni Azuri who is positioned at a vantage area at the Nkrumah circle -for his own safety- reported the crowd is charged and becoming increasingly violent.
Party leaders Kennedy Agyapong and Anthony Karbo are addressing party supporters, Manasseh reported.
Key party leaders, including the flagbearer Nana Akufo-Addo, are also headed for the venue of the demonstration to calm down the angry supporters.
They would rather the party resolve the grievances through the court than resort to violence.
