Isofoton SA defends Ablakwa in Martin Amidu’s allegations

Isofonton SA has quickly defended the minister of information Sam Okudzeto Ablakwa.

The former Attorney General, Martin Amidu yesterday told the public that Sam Okudzeto Ablakwa once told him to pay the 1.3billion Ghana Cedis to Isofonton SA when the case was in court.

Mr. Ablakwa admits making the call but maintains he only sought to draw the A-G’s attention to a petition brought to him by the company.

A representative of Isofoton, Anane Agyei Forson has since corroborated Mr. Ablakwa’s story.

He however told Joy News Martin Amidu’s disclosure yesterday was false.

Mr Forson claims he had gone to the Information Ministry to see the minister but he was absent so he met with Mr Ablakwa who immediately called Mr Amidu over the issue.

He rejected suggestions that he was only returning a favour the Deputy Information Minister did his company when he said at a press conference that Isofoton deserved the money because former Chief of Staff, Kwadwo Mpiani wrongfully terminated their contract.
