The ‘Single Ladies’ star, who has teamed up with the UN to launch an initiative urging people to give back to charities, met with Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon to talk about the new campaign that will launch on World Humanitarian Day (August 19).
A special video for the singer's ballad ‘I Was Here’ from the her hit album 4 will be unveiled on World Humanitarian Day to mark the global event and the launch of the 'giving back' campaign. It was fimed at the UN headquarters last night.
A clip from the video has been given to the bosses of the campaign to help encourage one billion people around the world to give back to their communities.
Speaking about her involvement in the campaign, Beyonce said: “We all see the headlines and we think what can I really do to help?
''World Humanitarian Day is an opportunity for all of us to work together to make a difference. This is our time to leave our mark on the world and show that we were here and we care.''
The campaign website launched last week and encourages people to share their acts of goodwill.
