Okada business in Ghana? The flawed logic of it

Many people in Ghana have diverge views about the Okada business in Ghana. People who support Okada business in Ghana usually give the following reasons and today we are going to see if their logic really holds.

1. "Okada should not be banned because if it is banned, it is going to increase traffic on the road". You would all agree with me that in a bid to skip traffic these okada means violent various road safety signs; they drive on unauthorized routs, pavement and the likes. This has resulted in the death of so many people all over the world. If we want to decrease the rate of traffic on the road, we(Ghanaian) should rather invest in mass transit systems. We should rather revive our trains and that would do the country a whole lot of good and thereby reducing the traffic on the road. And the last time I checked "Better late than never"

2. "If we ban okada business, many people would be unemployed". This logic is also flawed because if we are to allow them to do their business because they would be unemployed then we should also allow thieves, prostitutes, child traffickers to do their work because if these people are prevented from doing their work they would be unemployed. We should not just allow any work because it gives employment, we should allow jobs that do not cause the deaths of a lot of better. Work that does not bring danger.

I think that Okada should be banned in other to save our country from all the rot that it would bring as a regard. There is an Akan maxim which says "if you don't know how death feels like, then look at sleep". Let's take a look at Nigeria, Cote D'Ivoire and Kenya and see if this Okada business has helped them. It has rather compounded more into their problems and they are seeking to abolish it.

Are we seeking to encourage okada business in Ghana because of our political ambitions or because we love Ghana? The ball is in your court now
